Quest of advancement

Post by Swift »

This is for EJ if he decides to read it

First off, a huge thank you for the recent boost to tome drop rates we’re all thrilled with the improvements! Keep it up!
I’m reaching out with an idea to make acquiring Tomes of Advancement more engaging and rewarding for players, while driving participation in endgame raiding.
I propose introducing a new quest (The quest of advancement) delivered by a prominent NPC like Corsix, the King, or a fresh face like Jeloc, the Lorekeeper.

The core of the quest would be defeating all raid bosses in the game. This isn’t just about the reward—it’s about transforming the player experience and revitalizing raid content.

Here’s why this quest would be a great implement for the game:

The quest will guide players through each raid boss, helping them learn and master their mechanics in a structured, rewarding way.
This would boost raid participation by tying the Tome of Advancement to boss kills, players will dive into raids with renewed enthusiasm, making these encounters a cornerstone of their gameplay.
Reviving underutilized content, we all know, many raid bosses are currently overlooked. This quest will incentivize players to tackle these challenges, bringing new life to this content.

Implementing The Quest for Advancement will not only make Tomes of Advancement more accessible but also create a vibrant, active raid community. It’s a win-win that enhances player engagement and breathes new life into existing content. I strongly believe this addition will be a massive hit with the player base and elevate the game.
Let’s make this happen! We would love to discuss how we can refine this idea to align with your vision for the game.
Best regards,

+1

It would be great to have quests that are actually involved and have more of a story/reason behind them rather than just "kill 50 of these arbitrary mobs for no stated reason".

My biggest concern with this quest though would be to ensure that any participation counts for the quest instead of being like the non raid boss remains where you need to get the last hit. Requiring the last hit on raid bosses would make this quest virtually impossible to complete, or at the very least it could take years for most players to complete it.

i would 100% return to game if this was made a thing. no point in playing when i cannot even reach the "new" max level of 73. why bother playing a game that has the most important upgrades like max level, locked behind something stupid like a 0.0001% drop chance.

It's honestly ridiculous. Why even bother to balance this game whatsoever when the biggest imbalance is the 73's vs the 70's. We keep at such a low player count because its simply not a fair or productive game. When a game does nothing but make you feel like you wasted your time what do you think is going to happen.

To be fair there is really no attempt at balancing the game either. The game has been two classes (warlock and warrior) for almost a decade now.
