 EJ: Map Ideas for Quest progression (Screenshot provided)

After last nights discussion to add progressions and make it easier for new players/newbies to know where to go and have a storyline, I started on how 1-30 can be split up. I've written down 1-10 so far and will do 10-20 today as well with input from others as well. 2.0 is structured a bit differently so I AM writing this for 2.0 but I am sure most of it can work on 1.0 as well.

As you enter Semel for first time, have Juniper walk to SE side of Square and greet new characters. She can simply say "Hello adventurer. Welcome! Come here." This will activate the beginning of the beginner quest line and she introduces you to Gordon, Enasha, Gergin Etc. After you complete her quest, she sends you to Ryargon, the town Guard Officer, to progress.

Ryargon then sends you to kill Bugs.

After Bugs, Imps, After you kill the imps, he gives you a (Boss Quest)quest to kill the Imp Squad Leaders around the town. Then, the troll camp south of Semel.

*This is where you can add various quests around the game to kill mini bosses, jeloc bosses, and world bosses with the (Boss Quest) tag.

Example: (Boss Quest) Slay Linay (65+)

After you are done with Troll Camp Ryargon will continue to have you kill Quests at t1 Graveyard. Giant Spiders, Skeletons,Crypt Protectors.

(Possibly make 1 quest that looks like this)

Reward could be 6k Exp, newbie potions, 50s silver. (Skel quest gives 2500 and Spider Quest gives 3k so I just combined them)

Do you think tutorial area should start at t1. And not a whole different island?


If i may add. I think to the right side of the imp boss and above the bugs should be another small troll camp. A couple locations to split the spawn up in case we receive more players.

An additional graveyard could be added as well right next door to the current one. Add another small boss to the 2nd one and a quest for the death of both "Necromancers"

the island level req would be a lot of fun and itd be nice to make all the towns some what relevant again

I think t1 should be the "tutorial" area. I see no reason to add something new like that when he can just expand it on t1/Semel since it is the start point. (With the exception of Odium being the start point for evil with GvE and would name to have the same thing copied over to there.)

Yes he liked the ideas of that kind of storyline with progression at least to 30 and then its a dog eat dog world where you have to learn the rest.

well one thing you also have to think is

you dont want a "predictable world layout" like i personally enjoy exploring the world and finding these small amazing lowlevel areas in highend zones and viceversa

below here is a "bad way of seting it up saying 10 is the starting zone but it is also a good indication of how many highend zones there should be

The discussion was goodside and evilside will have 1-30 as a linear progression towards the respective t3 towns on each side and then you can go from the t3 to cons island and thats when u get freedom to go explore for 30+ leveling areas
