Just curious if anyone is reading / listening to this series by Dakota Krout. The story is about how a dungeon is born and grows - sound familiar? Currently 3 books, 1) Dungeon Born, 2) Dungeon Madness, and 3) Dungeon Calamity. https://www.goodreads.com/series/192510-the-divine-dungeon

So kind of like the ecology of a dungeon? Does it feel as if it's based off a role playing system (IE, authours influences)?

Both the dungeon and the people entering the dungeon learn and get stronger over time. There are actually magic levels and rankings that all go through. I've only listened to the first two books, I don't think the third book is available on audible yet.
Different point of view, and more in line with role-playing than most books.

Finally had some time to read this book, really good stuff. Love how it switches between the explorers and the dungeon's point of view. Have to get the second one now! Thanks for the recommendation.

Happy to hear you enjoyed it. When you finish the series, there is a new series called the Ritualist. It is somewhat similar, but in this case virtual reality is taken to the extreme and someone is kind of drawn into a game full time.

The beginning of ritualist was a bit cheesy with the whole musk reference thing, and the humor isn't as funny as it is in dungeon born imo. Overall though I much prefer this over dungeon born, probably something to do with my obsession of magic and spells. Can't wait to read more from him! And I now found the genre litrpg I never knew existed. Thanks Nesb!

That series is next on my list. I have been getting into LitRPGs lately. The best so far is by far "The Land". Currently up to seven books in the series. Also "Super Powereds" is a really good 5 book series that is complete.

The next book in the series, "Regicide" may be available now - it comes out in audio in September.
This was a genre that I had not been aware of either. I've often thought that a similar type book about the world of Xenimus would be interesting.
