Just curious if anyone else caught the new Shannara show on MTV tonight. I've read all Terry Brooks' books and I'm a huge fan of his work. Even though MTV has totally turned this into a Twilight/hunger games parody the story line is still true to the book and it's kinda neat to put a face to the character names as well. Just seeing what anyone else thinks about this show.

I have read all his books as well, saw that they were airing the show so I recorded it. I have not watched it yet.

Is it worth the time to watch it?

Pretty cool, I will have to try to find it. I've read all of his books, as well as most of the others within the fantasy genre.

I have enjoyed these:

Patrick Rothfuss - the name of the wind
Scott Lynch - Gentleman Bastards
Brandon Sanderson - anything he writes
Steven Erikson - Malazan Book of the Fallen - long and complicated, but parts are extremely good
Neil Gaiman - I enjoy some better than others, American Gods is good
Mark Lawrence - Prince of Thorns
Jim Butcher - anything he writes
Robert Jordan - Wheel of Time
Anthony Ryan - Blood Song
Peter Brett - Warded Man
Anne Bishop
Joe Abercrombie

I can look through my book list for more

I don't have TV lol, but I'll have to try and watch these as I too loved the series.

I'm also about halfway through the malazan series now and love it.
Sword of truth and wheel of time are some of my favorites.
