They attack fast if you get close to them. I can't believe I have been looking for a bug that never really existed. I guess it could be changed but they are supposed to be dangerous.

So how does a mage mob does more damage hitting with their staff than beaming?

Even if you wanted mages to be stronger with staves than spells, critical hits, fine. But this amount of damage inconsistency? One shotting players when normally 20%? All of it makes no sense at all gameplay wise.
Yea that is not even close to a bug.
having the luxury of having every single class ingame at level 70
with decent gear for them

can you explain why it doesnt happen to some classes?

while it happends to others

if its not a bug

for example they never hit my wizard, druid like that

my wizard, druids always just gets 1 damage tick
here see the example:

NOW IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY AND COMPARE THE 2 VIDEOS
YOU CLEARLY SEE DRUID TAKING 1 SINGLE DAMAGE TICK PER BEAM
WHILE THE WARRIOR VIDEO BELOW KEEPS TAKING 2-3 DAMAGE TICKS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjJGLlsh_fk (druid) video

while other classes like warriors(nazurak on that video) it turns into beam staff(beam hit hit hit) with FAR higher damage than either beam or staff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjoAfnh7ULY&t= (warrior video)

Also notice how the warriors buffs does next to NOTHING to negate the damage

how can you not call it a bug when it only happends to every class?

What exactly is intended though? Yes for them to be dangerous, which they are, but it’s ALL mobs not just DD mages. My noobs was hunting, doing perfectly fine at DD. Beams were registering for about 11% and hits for 6-7% but when he would beam and hit right after, it would knock me down 84-87%. That’s like he beamed me 6-7 times and hit me a couple times too all within tenth of a second..

Once again this is using DD as an example instead of other monsters, but even noobs struggle to level, die consistently, lose bags, items and grow extremely frustrated with the game because a place they continuously die to staff/beam combo at a place they are supposed to be hunting because it is around their power level.

If this was intended then it needs adjusted a little bit.

There is no programming anywhere in the AI to do different things based on class. If different things are happening to different classes that is just chance.

Have you actually tried to experience this yourself EJ?

And if it's not a bug, then it's a feature, right?

Considering it hasn't always been in the game, when and why did you add this?

Why would consecutive hits you can't see be more damage than a single beam from a mage mob?

so why does it act diffrently than ej?

just chance? it NEVER happends to my wizard or druid

i mean really never

while it happends all the time to my warrior and other melees and warlock

pretty much every single beam

its a tad bit consistant for it to be called coincidence or chance

It is possible that the AI is making a decision based on some other factor that is making it appear as if it is choosing to do something based on class. I wonder also if it could be the magical attack that casters have more resistance to so they are not affected as much. I could look into that part.

It is not a feature, it is just how it works. I am also not going to just change it for you, I am not here to just sit around making the game easy for you.

I am perfectly willing to discuss it more but at least we have cleared up what is going on here.

How is this not something that MUST be changed? This one bug has been terrorizing the game for more than 2 years now.

It's made the gameplay inconsistent and has made for the worst experience when farming places that beam.

there is not a similar active or inactive person who doesent want this changed. What is the down side of doing so?

The only result of doing so would be to enable some well geared melees to also farm top end gear like any 70 mage can

No not any mage. Only mages farming top DD are in MAX TOP GEAR. Please dont give ej fake news.
